Teen Lured and Brutally Beaten in Australia Following Snapchat Meetup

Breaking News: An autistic teenager was subjected to a violent assault and robbery after being lured to a meeting via Snapchat.

A 15-year-old boy with autism was seriously injured in a pre-arranged attack in Stawell, Australia, on October 5th. He was lured to the meeting point through Snapchat by two girls, before being violently assaulted and robbed by a group of teenagers. The attack, captured on video, shows the boy repeatedly punched and kicked as he attempted to escape, with demands made for his shoes.

Victoria Police have charged three teenagers – two 15-year-olds and one 14-year-old – with affray, robbery, recklessly causing injury, and theft. The accused will appear in children’s court at a later date. Police executed four search warrants in the region as part of the investigation and expect to interview a fourth boy. The victim suffered soft tissue injuries and potential head trauma, and is now experiencing nightmares and fear of leaving his home, according to his mother. Doctors are conducting further scans to determine if he sustained brain bleeding.

Superintendent Dan Davison stated police are treating the incident as isolated, but have increased patrols in Stawell to reassure the community. He emphasised that violence will not be tolerated. The victim’s mother expressed relief her son was alive, whilst highlighting the significant emotional impact of the attack.

Detectives will continue to investigate and police will maintain heightened visibility in the area.
